S.V.Y.F Open Shoot – 14th April 2019

Well what a difference 6 months make! At our last shoot back in October we were considering sending out rescue boats given how much it rained – Our first shoot of 2019 brought much nicer weather. Although there was a chill in the air, we had mainly blue skies for most of the day.
172 archers descended upon our woods – thank you all for coming. It was great to see you all and have such a good turnout. Judging by the feedback we received, you all had a great day.
The course was set by Ivor, Robin, Nigel, Bernie, Dean and Darren and consisted of mainly 3D’s with some paper faces – and faces that had never been seen before. We hope you all enjoyed shooting these new faces – there are more to come! The large standing bear was certainly a topic of conversation… The course itself was quite challenging but fair with something for everyone including some cracking longer shots and the snake pit! (Thanks to Nigel and Bernie – did anyone get a 24 on the rattle snake?!) From what everyone was saying when they came off the course at the end of the day – we think you all enjoyed it.
The ladies in kitchen lived up to their usual high standards and once again proved why SVYF are renowned for our catering. The spread they laid on for everybody was fantastic – thank you ladies (and Jason and Roy on the griddle!)
Thank you to the course layers and members who helped in the lead up to the shoot – but above all, thank you again to all the archers who came.
We have some new 3D’s on order and working on some more paper faces so be sure to visit us again on 20th October – but please book early to avoid disappointment! Bookings now being taken – click HERE to book.
