The committee of SVYF have been discussing the latest COVID-19 restrictions from the Government, the NFAS and our own restrictions including reviewing our risk assessment. After careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our October shoot. There is no guarantee that come October, the Governments restrictions will have changed enough to allow larger gatherings and with so many other restrictions that would need to be adhered to it certainly wouldn’t be a ‘normal’ open shoot. Therefore, for the safety of our members and all visiting archers, we are making the decision early to cancel the shoot and look forward to hosting our next open shoot in April 2021.Sadly, SVYF will also remain closed to visitors until at least January 2021.
2020 membership subscriptions are now due. Renewal forms are in the post so you should be receiving them soon. They are not currently available online but there will be copies at the AGM if you need one.
Subs are due by the end of January. Payment can be made at the AGM or by sending the form back to the secretary with your payment.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 11th January at 1.00pm. Please arrive from 12.30. Same venue as last year, Shires Farm, Hawford, Worcester. WR3 7SG
There will also be the usual bring and buy table so if you have any second hand equipment you would like to sell, bring it with you but arrive early.
Please come and support your club.
A chilly but sunny morning welcomed the 151 archers who took the time to travel to our woodland to shoot our course of 36 targets consisting of 34 x 3d’s and 2 x paper faces. We had our new 3d’s out which we hope you enjoyed shooting and one of our own paper faces. The feedback on these faces is fantastic so there will certainly be more in the future – watch this space!
There was a little bit of drizzle in the air for the raffle and prize giving but everyone managed to get home in the dry – which is more that what we can say about our October shoot last year! The woodland was slightly damp underfoot with care having to be taken on the bridges but it was nice for everyone to stay dry!
A massive thank you to everyone who came. It was great to see you all – Judging by all your comments, you all had a great day.
Everyone was very well looked after by the ladies in kitchen who offered the usual great range of sandwiches, burgers, hotpots and cake! The chicken tikka was particularly good so big thanks to our ladies (and Jason and Roy on the griddle!)
Thank you to our course layers – I think you will all agree, it was a great course with something for everyone. Thank you to all the members who gave up their time to assist the course layers above all, thank you again to all the archers who came and we will hopefully see you all again in 6 months time!
For the keen archers – booking is now open for our next open shoot on 19th April 2020 – click HERE to book.

Thank you and see you soon….
All at SVYF.
Could the committee remind all members that insurance when shooting at the club or at official NFAS shoots is only provided by being a member of the NFAS.
As stated on the clubs membership application form, it is a requirement for all members to take out membership of the NFAS which will provide insurance cover for members as detailed on the NFAS website. A copy of the NFAS Insurance details is also pinned on the club noticeboard for those who prefer to read a hard copy. Please do not remove this.
It is up to individual members to arrange their NFAS membership – the club do not do this on your behalf so please make sure you are a fully paid up member of the NFAS.
